“Batelco for Family Stability launches the first edition of the Ibn Khaldun Award for Scientific Research.
The Batelco Family Stability Center “Mustaqira” has announced the launch of the inaugural edition of the “Ibn Khaldun Award for Scientific Research,” held under the theme “The Family in the Digital Space.” This pioneering initiative is the first of its kind in the field of family stability research, reflecting the Center’s commitment to advancing specialized scientific inquiry into contemporary family issues and keeping pace with the rapid digital transformations that affect both society and the family unit.
In this context, Dr. Moza Isa Al‑Duwai, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the Batelco Family Stability Center, emphasized that the launch of the award marks an important step in the Center’s efforts to promote family culture and raise societal awareness of the importance of investing in scientific knowledge to develop policies and initiatives that support family stability. She explained that the award aims to serve as a credible research platform that empowers families and strengthens their pivotal role by supporting studies that address present needs while anticipating future challenges.
Dr. Al‑Duwai further noted that the choice of the theme “The Family in the Digital Space” reflects the Center’s deep awareness of the opportunities and challenges inherent in this domain. She highlighted that the award’s first edition will address key issues including digital parenting, the technological gap between generations, digital addiction, family cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks governing digital space usage, among other relevant topics.
Building on this vision, the Batelco Family Stability Center invites academics, postgraduate students, researchers, and specialists in family affairs to participate in the award by submitting innovative scientific research that responds to current challenges and supports national efforts to reinforce family stability. All submissions will undergo rigorous scientific evaluation based on precise professional standards to ensure integrity and academic excellence in selecting the winning research. The award offers prizes of BHD 1,000 for first place, BHD 500 for second place, and BHD 300 for third place, in addition to certificates of appreciation and the publication of abstracts of shortlisted research in a special booklet documenting the award’s first edition.
Dr. Al‑Duwai added that the evaluation results and announcement of winners will culminate in a closing ceremony on 24 January 2026, during which distinguished researchers will be honored and their contributions to enriching scientific content on family issues will be highlighted. This reflects the Center’s commitment to supporting knowledge and scientific research, and to reinforcing the role of academic inquiry as a cornerstone for shaping solutions and initiatives that strengthen family stability.
